cottage

This detached cottage is situated in what was once the kitchen garden of the new Harbottle Castle (the big house down the lane) and was originally the potting shed alongside the old vine and peach house. Set well back from the village street the cottage is up a few steps in the large private back garden of the owners of Windley where the peace of the countryside prevails. It is small but its character has been preserved during the conversion and much thought has gone into making it into a comfortable holiday cottage for one or two guests. The Potting Shed is in The Northumberland National Park, and Harbotle is cenrally placed for Hadrians Wall, Cragside, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, The beautiful Coast, The Cheviot Hills and Newcastle. There is a living / kitchen / dining room with steep steps up to a small loft in the galleried roof space where there are a couple of floor cushions. Please note there is only room to sit up here. The kitchen and appliances are brand new in 2011 with an electric cooker, microwave oven, ceramic hob for cooking and a fridge, washing machine, electric toaster and kettle. Through to a separate room from the living area is a small bedroom with double bed and wardrobe and separate en suite shower room. There is a patio with garden furniture and there is parking for one car. Sorry no pets. Short breaks and weekly bookings throughout the year. tele: 01669 650407
